Brianna (aka Lucky Star Farrah) went to the Rainbow Bridge, December 14, 2018. Much loved by her family and her cavalier siblings. You were such a good girl Bree. Got this note today from Mary M, one of our adopters who has given a wonderful home to several Lucky Star rescues. Her Desi crossed the Rainbow bridge on August 8, 2018. He would have celebrated his 13th birthday on September 5. She adopted Desi at age 5-6 months of age as he had been surrendered to Lucky Star due to pulmonic stenosis. Fortunately, it was a low graded one and did not require surgery or medication. Desi absolutely loved life and everyone he met. Mary said that she must admit that Desi had more friends than she would ever have. Desi loved to go for long walks where he could explore and enjoy all of those wonderful smells. As most Cavaliers, Desi developed MVD and 3 years ago went on the heart medication. I know he was greeted at the bridge by Tulip and Annabelle (Lucky Star) as well as Bailey, Oliver, Bijou, Lily, Mimi, and Dorothy. I am forever grateful to Toni Webb for allowing Desi to share my life. Rest in peace sweet boy until we meet again. Jake was about ten months old when we drove to West Virginia and picked him up from his foster parents. He was quite timid but fit in well with our little pack, another Cav named Cricket, and a terrier cross named Blondie. We took Jake along with us to horse shows up and down the east coast where everyone who saw him made a big fuss over him, and soon his timidness was gone. He traveled all over with us and was the best little companion you could ask for. He was diagnosed with MVD at about 7 and was helped by medications for about a year and a half, then he started to struggle even with the best of care. Our wonderful vet came to our house and we laughed and cried while we talked about Jake as he was gently put to sleep. He was so sweet. He was laid to rest in our back yard with two of our departed Cavaliers. He is sorely missed From Stanley's Mom: My little Stanley came from the Pedigree Pets raid in 2012. Lucky Star rescued the 12 cavaliers.. Nearly blinded from an untreated eye condition, 9 teeth had to be pulled, and undernourished, Lucky Star fostered him and then we adopted him. He passed away this past spring (2017) from cancer so we didn't have long enough time with us. Caged for so long he made up for lost time by having a blast in his new home. He was a special little guy. I miss him. We were blessed to have Iris and Blythe join our family in 2006. They had been rescued together and stayed together during their time at the SPCA and in their Lucky Star foster home. We adopted Iris first, but could not forget about her best friend Blythe. A few weeks later we adopted Blythe so they could stay together in their new lives. We will never forget they day they were reunited in our home...their smiles and tail wagging when they first saw each other are memories we will forever treasure. These precious girls settled into life as the treasured family members they deserved to be. Our little Blythe made her way across the Rainbow Bridge in 2012. Last week it was time for Iris to cross over the bridge and we know Blythe was there to greet her, along with our other pups who had already made the journey, Angel, Gracie, Frannie and Pudgie. We will miss them dearly as will many of our friends and family Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
