What will you be doing on Mother's Day?  A puppy mill momma will be stuck in a cage without love or medical care. They will give birth to an average of 50 puppies in their lifetime.

Meet Dolly and Scarlett, our Puppy Mill Mommas of the year

Dolly and Scarlett are related girls who spent the first 6 years of their lives   producing puppies for the internet puppy mill market  for the same "breeder".   They were confined to cages and only rarely got out into the sunshine.   They received no vet care, poor food and limited social interaction.   It was so bad that Dolly kept escaping under the fences.     She ultimately wound up in a shelter which led to their freedom and Lucky Star.     

One of our wonderful experienced volunteer families took them  into foster care and nurtured them  with good medical care and lots of love and affection and love to heal their spirits.  While Scarlett is still shy of strangers, her Cavalier spirit has emerged and she is loving her  happy new life with her forever family.   Dolly is loving being the queen bee in her new home.

These 2 girls are  just two  of many, many mill mommas that have been lucky enough to be rescued.  There are so many more who remain prisoners in the mills breeding litter after litter.  For most, we are able to find wonderful homes.    Others remain in Lucky Star's care for life.
