The Rainbow Bridge

This page is dedicated to all the prescious angels who have gone before us.  Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

Lexus
Sweet Lexus lost her battle and is now running pain free with the other Cavaliers who were waiting for her at the bridge. We thank Mindy and her family for giving Lexus such a wonderful home. She will be so missed by all who knew her. Please take a moment to read the beautiful tribute about her written by her mom Mindy. http://mindyandryland.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-tribute-to-my-friend.html

Lily formerly Mandy
May, 2014: Dear wonderful people of Lucky Star, In February of 2007, our sweet girl, Lilly (originally named Mandy) came to live with us in her forever home. I wish it was forever. We lost our sweet angel last night to CNS lymphoma. I am writing to say thank you. Thank you for the sweetest, most loyal, most loving friend we have ever had. We had just over 7 happy years together and that could not have been possible without the hard work, dedication and love of the special folks of Lucky Star. Please know that Lilly loved sleeping in our bed every night, the beach in all seasons, getting blown dry after her baths, and vanilla ice cream. She had grandparents that wrapped Christmas presents just for her and neighbors that kept milk bones in their pantry for her (even though they didn't have a dog of their own). Everybody couldn't help but fall in love with her. Thank you for our Lilly and every precious moment we had with her. She brought so much happiness into our lives. She may have been rescued, but we were the "Lucky" ones!!! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Celeste Blair & Larry McDonald

Logan (Bode)
Logan, formerly Lucky Star Bode, passed away from complications of cancer and MVD on October 2, 2107. He was a quiet, gentle cavalier that is very much missed by his family. Bode came to Lucky Star as part of a group of rescues named after the U.S. Olympic team in 2010. His foster Mom and adoptive parents laughed about that due to the fact that Bode never was comfortable going down stairs. Bode was preceded in death by his sister cavaliers Molly (Lucky Star, Dolly) and Allie (Lucky Star Kara) both passing in 2015. They are all together now at the Rainbow Bridge.

Lucy
Dear, sweet Lucy. Lucy came to Lucky Star three years ago at a very young age. She became a permanent foster because she had such a severe heart condition that none expected her to live more than a few months. Lucy proved everyone wrong and lived for over three years in her foster home. She had a family that loved her dearly and was the ambassador for other rescues who stayed in her home. Lucy was on vacation with her family, when she took a turn. Her big, beautiful heart was just not working for her and she was rushed to the emergency. Lucy went peacefully in the arms of the foster mom who loved her dearly and gave her the life that every Cavalier deserves. She beat the odds. God bless you, Lucy. You will be missed by all of us who watched you thrived for longer than anyone expected. That is the power of love.
