Got this note today from Mary M, one of our adopters who has given a wonderful home to several Lucky Star rescues. Her Desi crossed the Rainbow bridge on August 8, 2018. He would have celebrated his 13th birthday on September 5. She adopted Desi at age 5-6 months of age as he had been surrendered to Lucky Star due to pulmonic stenosis. Fortunately, it was a low graded one and did not require surgery or medication. Desi absolutely loved life and everyone he met. Mary said that she must admit that Desi had more friends than she would ever have. Desi loved to go for long walks where he could explore and enjoy all of those wonderful smells. As most Cavaliers, Desi developed MVD and 3 years ago went on the heart medication. I know he was greeted at the bridge by Tulip and Annabelle (Lucky Star) as well as Bailey, Oliver, Bijou, Lily, Mimi, and Dorothy. I am forever grateful to Toni Webb for allowing Desi to share my life. Rest in peace sweet boy until we meet again. Dillon He came to us just before Christmas in 2005, and we were privileged to share our lives with him for nearly 5 years. We thought we'd have more time, but he died very suddenly, in my arms, (on August 30, 2010) from cardiac arrest related to his MVD. He was one of the sweetest dogs we've ever known. ~Denise Brauner From Jessica: Dinah passed away peacefully in my arms this evening at 5:30. Her heart couldn't go anymore without causing her pain, and the day I met her I promised her she would never hurt or be sad again. She was not with me as long as some of the dogs I have known, but she stole my heart within a few short days. Her little spirit was so full of life and spunk, and she always made me laugh. I'll miss her terribly, but knowing she will never feel pain in that poor little heart of hers is worth it. The time she was here was so special to me and as long as she knows she was loved immensely it's all worth it. Run free my little Dinah-myte. I love you always.
