~~Claudia’s first five years were difficult, the kind of life no dog should ever have to experience. She spent most of her life in a cage in a commercial breeding facility. When she was spayed, there was evidence of a poorly performed cesarean section with extensive scar tissue adhering her uterus to her liver and intestines. Her spay was more complicated than most.
In spite of all that, Claudia is loving life and her new found freedom! Although she has some shyness, she is a sweet little Cavalier who loves all people, including men, and other dogs. True to her breed, she loves to be near her people, and loves sleeping in bed with her foster mom and canine foster siblings. Claudia also loves to play with her canine foster siblings big and small.
Although she is not destructive, she doesn’t mind spending time in a crate, which could be handy to help with her continued house-training. Her rescue, Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue says it best about these little dogs. Claudia is very bright, and is close to mastering the art.
Because she had a litter of puppies shortly before she was rescued, she has the typical “blown coat” of a breeding dog. With good nutrition and a little time, her very soft coat will be long and beautiful. She is five years old, weighs 17 lbs, has been spayed and had a dental, is up to date with all vaccines, with no serious medical issues noted at this time.
Claudia will do best and will continue to blossom in a home filled with love, patience and at least one other dog friendly dog to help her build her confidence. Claudia is being fostered in WI. Please fill out an application first, then contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest.
