Hi, my name is Andy and I am 4 years old. Until two weeks ago I spent 24 hrs a day in a cage. This freedom thing is GREAT! I can’t decide what I love best: playing outside, snoozing on the couch or the tasty meals I get to eat – and treats too. I have 5 cavalier friends at my foster home. One of my foster brothers is teaching me to play and I am having so much fun. My foster Mom let me help her put up the Christmas tree and told me about Santa Claus and how he might bring me my very own forever home for Christmas. If that happens then I think his name must be Santa Paws. My foster Mom has to go to work every day so she can pay for our treats so I am really happy that I have company during the day. I don’t like to be alone. The best part of the day is when she comes home and we get to play outside, eat and then snuggle on the couch. This is a pretty good life. My foster Mom says I have the cutest face and look angelic in my picture.

Andy is a fast learner. He can now climb steps, get on the couch on his own and likes to watch television – although he can’t change the channels yet. He loves to drag clothing around the house and was obsessed with the Christmas tree skirt for a few days. He particularly likes his foster mom's pajamas and sometimes doesn’t wait for her to take them off before he tries to walk off with them! He is a very social boy and likes to have someone around so he would be best in a home with at least one other dog so he can have a play companion. He would not do well if he was left alone all day by himself. He barks when left but quickly settles down. He is on his way to mastering house breaking but is still wearing a belly band in the house. Andy weighs 17.5 lbs and lost quite a few teeth during his dental. He has been neutered and is heart clear at this time. He does have a grade 3 patella on his left rear leg and a grade 2 on the right rear leg. He gets around well, shows no discomfort of physical limiatations. He is taking a glucosamine supplement and does exercises to strengthen the muscles around his knees. Andy needs a home with a completely fenced yard (not an invisible fence) so he can play outside safely.

Andy is being fostered in Ohio, in the Dayton area.  Please complete an application first, then contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest.
