Hi!  My name is Maggie Mae, well at least that is what my new foster Mom calls me.  I didn’t have a name before that, but I already come to my name and when I do,  the cool thing is I get a treat!

I’m 4 years old and I came from a place that didn’t take good care of me, in fact I really didn’t know that humans were nice, but I’m figuring it out now.  There have been a lot of changes since my foster mom saved me.  First, she took me to the Dr. and they made it so I don’t have to have any more babies. They also cleaned my teeth and I didn’t have to have any of them taken out and they put this little chip in me so I can always get home in case I get lost!  My foster mom was very happy when the Dr. said I’m really very healthy.  I heard them say my heart doesn’t have any worms, and my knees are all good.  My foster mom says I’m perfect and that makes me happy.  I only weigh 11 pounds right now and everyone says I need to gain a little weight and she is feeding me the best food I have every tasted, she says it’s grain free, whatever that means.

I’m working very hard on learning to go outside to potty, it’s sometimes hard to remember but the good thing is if I remember I get a treat and I love that!  I’m getting better and better at it every day.

When I first got to my new foster home I was so excited because there were other dogs there that look just like me and we all get to play together.  I have a nice fenced back yard which will be a requirement for me because I’m still shy and when I get nervous it’s harder to come to my foster mom, so for safety you will need to have a secure, at least 4 ft fence.  My foster mom says I had to say the 4 ft part because I can climb out of my x-pen in the house, that doesn’t make her very happy.  I also really like to rip and run when I play with my foster brother, I can run faster than him and so I just run back and get him when I get too far ahead.

One last thing, my foster mom says I need a lot of direction about how to be a dog.  For example when all my foster brothers and sisters get up on the furniture to rest I get very nervous and start pacing around cause I’m not really sure what to do.  She picks me up and reminds me that we are all safe and puts me on the sofa with them and then I lie down and go right to sleep.  She sure has taught me a lot and I love her but I really want a forever home.  I promise to be good and love you from here to infinity.

P.S.  I like to sleep in the bed.
