Hi, my name is Jackson. In my first posting my foster Mom spoke for me. Now I have been enjoying my freedom from the puppy mill for awhile and I have learned a thing or two. Here’s what I have figured out – couches are the best thing in the world. You can curl up on them and sleep and sleep. Crates are pretty good too. I have my own with a snazzy red and white blanket in it. I must say I my tri-color looks really good against that background. And treats…they are the best ever! You get one if you are a good boy and go potty outside. Even that is getting easier.

At first I wasn’t sure about that green stuff called grass but I have decided it is not too bad. But you know what the most important thing is? Having a family that loves you and is always there for you. My foster Mom is great and I like most of my cavalier cousins too. I have found out that I like being the only male though…no competition for Mom’s love. My foster Mom likes to hold me in her lap and tell me stories about adoption. She said I will have my very own family soon. I sure hope so. If you are looking for a great little boy and have a female dog that could be my sister I would love to meet you. Maybe you could be my forever family?

From Jackson's Mom:

Meet Jackson is  a beautiful 3-4 year old tri-color boy. Look at the difference a bath, good food and a short period  of love can make in the life of a puppy mill rescue. In 4 short days Jackson went from a stained dog cowering and afraid in a strange crate to a beautiful boy on his way to embarking on a new life as a pampered pooch!

Jackson lost some teeth during his dental but now has healhy sparkling teeth.  He  has a healthy appetite. He weights almost 16 pounds but could gain another lb or two. Jackson is heart clear at his vet exam but does have a grade 2 patella issue with his right rear leg. It does not require surgery and is being treated with food supplements and anti-inflammatory medication that is very low cost.   It surely does not stop him running and playing.

He is full of energy and loves running with his buddies in the backyard. He is getting along well with his 4 Cavalier “cousins” at his foster home and even spent some time playing with and chasing a 65 lb. boxer last weekend. Jackson has already shown some interest in toys and surprised his foster Mom when she took him for his first walk. He actually picked up the leash in his mouth and brought it to her. He walks on a leash like he has been doing it his whole life. He is working on housebreaking with good results. He sleeps in a crate at night and does very well.

Jackson likes to run so much that he needs a securely fenced large yard so that he can use that energy safely.
