Kacey is still looking for her forever home.

Kacey will be 1 year old on October 14.  She was a frail girl when she came to Lucky Star in December with open fontanel and being hydrocephalic.  She has blossomed into a lovely girl, who can hold her own now against some young males her same age and engages in playtime with them.  She receives liquid Omeprazole once a day.  The fontanel have closed up and she is a lovely girl.  Housebreaking still remains a challenge.  She will use a enclosed designated area of washable mats.  She really needs to be in a home with another small dog, preferably a Cavalier.  She likes toys, is not destructive and sleeps all night in a crate.  She will not use a leash.  Kacey can easily get under foot.  She is quiet and her foster mom needs to watch that she doesn’t step on her.  For her own safety,  a home with someone who may have balance or coordination issues would not be appropriate.  She can sneak up on you without knowing that she is there.

Requirements for location, yard and no small children are the same as specified in the earlier post.

This dear girl is still looking for a home. She does not show any symptoms often associated with some hydrocephalic pups.  Kacey seems to be a typical puppy.  She needs to work on her housebreaking and loves to play with toys and other dogs.

May 2022

Kacey is a  tri  Cavalier puppy.  She was turned over to Lucky Star because of open fontanel and for being hydrocephalic (fluid on the brain). She came from a breeder in Ohio.  Kacey came to Lucky Star at 8 weeks old, weighing 3 lbs.  Her birthdate is 10/14/2021.  Since she came to our care, the fontanel of closed except for one small spot on the top of her head.  She receives Prilosec once a day for the fluid.  She may always have fluid and need medication but any symptoms are barely noticeable at this time.    She has a not had any seizures and does not show any neurological symptoms.

Kacey is a quiet puppy.  She likes to play but doesn’t like to play rough.  Sometimes she just watches what is going on.  She seems to be a little slower to comprehend than other puppies.  She is a lovable girl who can be described as dainty and delicate. She now weighs 8 lbs so she is expected to be a small dog.   She has been in a foster home with many adult Cavaliers and another puppy.  She likes to cuddle with other dogs at bedtime and naptime.

She continues to work on housebreaking.

She absolutely needs a quiet home, no small children or active big dogs.  The fenced yard is a must as with all of our dogs.   She should also have another Cavalier in the home, a motherly type would be best for her, but one who will play with her.

Kacey has been spayed, microchipped and received her vaccinations.

She is being fostered in Maine.  Please be within a reasonable driving distance and consider the location before you apply.  Please contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com with any questions, after you complete an application.  Thank you.
