Allie is a 3 year old spirited 12 lb tricolor girl released to LS from a breeding facility. She recently had a litter and displayed maternal instincts such as putting lots of toys and blankets in her crate and guarding them. Gradually she adjusted and after being spayed her temperament improved. She still enjoys toys, especially a new one and likes to gather available items such as socks, sweaters, towels for her crate collection. She has learned she can’t have everything she finds. She sleeps soundly in her crate and has also joined the rest of the dogs sleeping in the bed. When no one is home she is crated as she loves to go vertical and find something new when no one will stop her. She doesn’t mind being in her crate and often is there with the door open. She also eats in her crate. She loves to be held and petted. 

She goes with her foster Mom whenever she can take her along and loves going in the car. She is good on a leash. She has responded well to training but will still test her foster mom. She loves be near her and bolts in to any open door her foster mom opens. She is being trained to wait to enter until she is told it is OK. She is small and quick. She knows her name and comes when she is called. She sits for a treat and expects to be the first one to get a treat. She loves the yard and is often the last one of the group to come in. She has done well with house training.

Her vet treatment includes all vaccinations, blood work, no heart murmur heard, patellas ok, treated ear infection, spay calming collar and calming chew, flea, tick and heart worm prevention and microchip. She has a mild intermittent heart murmur (1/6)  which should be rechecked. Her oral exam showed mild tartar and she will need a dental in the coming year.

Allie is very smart and trainable. She needs a home where everyone will continue with her training and be consistent. She is much happier now knowing her limits, testing them and then listening and being praised. She doesn’t chew on her toys much but loves to tear up paper, tissue and cardboard. She takes great naps.
