Must Haves for Sergeant Pepper

- Physically fenced in yard

- Companion Animal

~~Sergeant Pepper is looking for his retirement home. After spending 11 years as the resident “stud” for a commercial breeding facility, Pepper is ready to find a comfy dog bed or two and enjoy the good life. Pepper is happiest when he is outside scratching his back in the grass or trying out one of the many dog beds in his foster home. He loves soft toys and will take one of them to bed to cuddle with. He is a larger boy at 20 pounds but is not overweight. He lost 25 teeth at his dental and some of his remaining ones are worn down from chewing on crate bars his entire life. He has no problems eating. He was so happy that Lucky Star helped him get rid of a nasty case of ear mites. Despite that and his age he hears well. He responds to his name from other rooms in the house and will trot right into the kitchen when he hears “outside” or “treat.” He is mastering housebreaking. He does not like to pose for pictures but as you can tell from his picture he does pick up after himself. After a trip to the vet he carried his harness, leash and belly band up to back door! He also loves the bath mat and regularly carries it out into the living room.

Sergeant Pepper would love to have a home with a few other dogs since he has spent his life in the company of other cavaliers and would be lonely as an “only.” He needs and deserves a physically fenced in yard (no electric fences) as he adores being outside. He walks very well on a leash and would be happy to take some short walks with his new family. If you would like to give this gentle boy the life of a pampered pet and can provide his “must haves” then please fill out an application at: www.luckystarcavalierrescue.com. You may email Pat Wellmeier at: pwellmeier@myself.com to let her know of your interest and with any questions.
