Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (medium coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
Minnie is a 3 year-old (approximately) tri female who came to Lucky Star in early 2016, surrendered by the breeder because of undiagnosed weight loss. She was transferred to Admiral Veterinary Clinic in TN where she has been treated for EPI, Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. This is a condition where the pancreas does not produce the enzyme needed to digest food or receive any nourishment. The treatment is that the enzyme is provided to her in every meal, in a powder form (PancreaPowder). This enzyme will be needed for the rest of her life. She has been on a special diet to help with her weight gain and also receives B12 injections every 2 weeks. There is a bit of time and effort needed for her ongoing care. She is now at a healthy weight and ready for adoption. She is a little shy and likes the company of other dogs. She will need a home who is not only willing to take on the monthly expense and care of her condition but someone who is home a lot due to her feeding and potty schedule. She needs to go outside every 4-5 hours. A fenced yard is also a requirement as well as other canine companions. If you are willing to commit to her care, please submit an application, then contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest and we can share more details about her care. She is a lovely, petite girl and we’re happy to have her well and available for adoption!
