~~Dickens is a sweet and happy Black and Tan 5 yr old boy who was lucky to be retired from breeding. He is a larger boy but not overweight at 24.5 lbs. He was timid at first but made friends with the other Cavaliers here and has become very comfortable in the house and yard. He has learned to sit and is good in his crate when he doesn’t have a human at home to watch over him. Recently he has discovered toys and chews and is still working on basic manners and housetraining. He loves to cuddle. His coat is very soft and shiny. His ears were shaved and will grow out to be beautiful. He has a low grade heart murmur which is asymptomatic, not requiring any medication at this time but will need to be assessed every 6 months, as should most Cavaliers at this age.   At times he runs without any problem happily around the yard.  Most of the time he ambles about and follows the other dogs, figuring things out in his new big world as he goes.  He has also been good in the car on a few outings.
 
Dickens will do well in a house with other dogs and humans who love him and give him the very best care. He must have a physically fenced yard to play in and stay safe. He is fine with respectful children and wants to meet new humans that he has encountered .  He is handsome and a gentleman.
