Skip is a beautiful little Blenheim boy who came to LSCR a broken soul.  He spent his six years of life in a puppy mill until he was rescued.  When we first met Skip, we thought he had very limited vision.  The vet ophthalmologists diagnosed him with chronic dry eyes which had never been treated.  He started Skip on eye drops and after just a few months of treatment, the drops have made an amazing difference in his sight. Hopefully,  the damaged caused through neglect will continue to resolve  This precious little boy now bounces around his foster mom’s yard and home like a puppy.  He is absolutely having a fantastic time learning how to be a dog.  His foster mom says he has given new meaning to “Yippee Skippy”!

Skip enjoys all other dogs and would probably do well with cats.  He is a smart boy and is house trained.  He loves to prance beside you as you walk around outside, so he should do well with leash training. Skip will require fairly inexpensive eye drops for the rest of his life, but he doesn’t mind them at all.  His vet told us Skip has grade two luxated patellas.  He just forgot to tell Skip.  He shows no clinical signs and does not have pain.  He has had a complete dental and some extractions.  He tested heartworm negative and been given all his vaccinations.

Skip is such a dear, sweet little guy.  He is shy at first but warms up quickly and wants nothing more than to cuddle with a human or another dog.  And, of course, run around the yard.  He is shy around children, but does seem to like them if they are well mannered and are properly introduced. Treats can’t hurt.

This little boy is a treasure.  His personality is pure Cavalier and shines through even after his horrible years in a puppy mill.  If you are interested in this awesome boy you can fill out an online application and then contact Fran Schubert at fcschubert@comcast.net to let her know.  Just tell her you are interested in Yippee Skippy!
