Diabetic boy/ lymphoma/leukemia
How would you like to have a fellow in your home who would lavish you with kisses, follow you around, snuggle up next to you on the couch and absolutely never complain about anything? You can have all of this and more if you adopt sweet Joey! Joey is a very handsome, young 8 year old, 21 pound Tri-Color Cavalier who wants nothing more than to have love and security. Joey was turned over to rescue due to his owner's poor health. Currently he shares his life with two other Cavaliers, both girls, and a retired couple who have found him to be the easiest, most amenable boy imaginable. He has become a beloved part of the household and takes part in all the family rituals. But he would love to have a home of his own. Riding in the car is one of Joey’s great joys as well; he gets in by himself, sits quietly and watches the world go by, and waits to be told it’s okay to get out. He counts visiting Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, the local pet food emporium, and Home Depot among his hobbies—along with the petting he receives there! He loves sleeping in the big bed with his people and is a terrific cuddler and just an easy go with the flow flexible kind of guy. He gets along great with other dogs and people alike. He would do well in a home with another dog(s). Although Joey is diabetic, he is stable in blood sugar control; caring for his needs is a joy. He knows when breakfast, dinner, and treats are due, and he will caper and spin in the kitchen while you are getting them ready. He also actually knows when it is time for his insulin shots and will remind you if you forget, coming to ask with his lovely, expressive eyes. Of course, he gets a small portion of his food as a treat afterwards, so it may not be that HE can tell time but that his tummy can Joey has had a recent dental, a summer grooming, is neutered, on heartworm preventatives, and receives eye drops daily. He will be microchipped soon. He is agile, doing stairs to the back yard, and absolutely loves to play ball. He has also just discovered a squeaky red lobster he likes to play keep away with from his younger adopted Cavalier sister. Joey is being fostered in Murphy, NC, which is quite near Georgia and Tennessee as well.
