Simply delightful!!" describes this girl to a tee!!  Bridget  just celebrated her 4th birthday‌, yesterday! [ A female, Tri-colored cavalier that weighs 12.2 pounds.]
Bridget was a breed mama on an Amish farm in Ohio.  Bridget has been spayed and had a dental and all of the required vaccines.  Bridget is very atypical for a dog coming into rescue, in that there were no issues of anxiety observed in her, at all. Bridget was able to bond and trust humans from her first day in this foster home. Bridget seeks affection from every person that she meets, whether it's family members, guests that visit our home or neighbors that she meets while on a walk thru the neighborhood.  Bridget is great with children and has become the favorite dog of our little granddaughter!   This is a loving, sweet girl who trusts people and has a darling personality.  We see many young puppy-like behaviors emerging in this girl as she experiences more days in freedom.  Bridget is spunky and playful! At night she loves to settle in with a plastic bucket of toys that she dumps onto the carpet.  She willingly shares the toys with all of the other dogs, but clearly feels they are there for her!!  Bridget enjoys laying on her human dads' lap and getting kisses and scratches on her chin and back. There are no health issues to report on.
Bridget spends her day snuggling with the dogs that she lives with. We have taught her to walk on a leash.  Bridget prances like a prize pony as she explores the neighborhood! Everyone who has met her has fallen completely in love with her.   Bridget does well sleeping in a crate at night and when we leave the house.  She needs to be in a crate since she bites on baskets and furniture legs if given the chance.  House-training continues to be an ongoing process.  This is all very new for her.  Bridget will bark to let us know that she needs to go outside.  We reward her with "treats" for her successes.  Her tiny bladder means many trips outside all day long.  Once she's outside, she loves to run and bark and get rid of some of the high energy that she can display.  It is a joy to watch her fly through the yard being the happiest girl on the planet!!  Bridget puts grass, sticks and leaves in her mouth and needs to be watched closely,  the entire time she is outside.  Luckily, she stays next to her humans and deposits all of her special finds on the ground with the command: "drop it".
Bridget eats her meals with gusto!! All meals are eaten in the kitchen with the other dogs nearby. Bridget eats kibble and a variety of fresh vegetables, as well as turkey and hardboiled egg whites.
We feel Bridget is a fast learner and definitely wants to please her humans! The commands she has leaned are: come, sit, stay, drop it and laydown.  Bridget is a good traveler in the car and fell asleep in the crate on trips to the vet and on her trip to the foster home.
