If you are looking for a friendly, affectionate, madly in love with you Cavalier, then you’ve come to the right place! Beethoven is a one-of-a-kind love bug and may be the dog for you!  Beethoven was released from a commercial breeder when he retired from breeding. We estimate that he is about 6 years old and weighs 19 lbs.

Beethoven loves every human, dog, and cat he meets. Beethoven is happy to go on walks, run around outside, entertain himself with a squeaky ball, or snuggle with is foster family while they are relaxing or working. Beethoven is happiest when he sploots across a lap and can look lovingly into the person’s eyes and give them kisses. When his foster family leaves, Beethoven happily goes in his crate, receives a treat, and does not exhibit any separation anxiety. Beethoven is happy to sleep in his crate or on the bed, whichever his foster family prefers.

Beethoven is happiest when he is getting attention from humans. He will climb over the other dogs in the home to get affection from his foster family. Beethoven would do well in a home by himself or with other pets if the pets don’t mind him demanding so much human attention.

Beethoven is housebroken. However, since he was a male breeding dog, he will mark a new house for the first week or so and can wear a belly band (i.e., a washable diaper for male dogs) while he adjusts.

An ideal home for Beethoven has a fenced yard (which is required for all our rescues). Beethoven would benefit from some basic obedience training. He is food motivated and eager to please, so he may be easy to train.

Beethoven has a strong desire for attention and affection that he is constantly at the feet of the humans in the household. This means that the people in the household will need to be vigilant not to accidentally step on him and should be steady on their feet. He doesn’t seem to mind. He seems to love everyone and would do well in a home with people of all ages. He even loves infants and wants to snuggle and kiss them.

The lucky family that adopts Beethoven is going to have a wonderful boy that will be affectionate, loyal, and loads of fun.

Beethoven has been neutered, vaccinated, has a microchip, HW tested, and had a full exam. He has also had an echocardiogram because of a heart murmur.  The echo indicated Grade 2 and starting on Pimobendan to delay progression.  A follow up echo is recommended in 12 months.

Good with dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks.  Good with all ages of people. Needs a yard. Crate trained. Likes to be in your lap. Playful.

Beethoven is being fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Please consider his location before applying since we do not approve long distant adoptions, do not ship dogs and do not use commercial transports.  After completing an application, contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest in this sweetheart!
