Charles or Charlie was released to Lucky Star by his former owner in February as they could no longer care for him. He had lived in a home all of his life. He is eight years old and is being fostered in Cincinnati. OH. His health is good but he did lose all of his teeth during his dental as he did not receive regular dental care in the past. He is neutered and is up to date on all his vaccines.He is being fed solid food that is soaked in warm water for 45 minutes to make it soft His foster family adds some canned food is added to make it flavorful for him. His foster family is still working on getting him to eat from a dog bowl. He has sometimes only eaten when he is hand fed but he is improving every day on eating from a bowl.

He lives for his daily walks with his foster family. He is very sweet with everyone he meets. He is toy possessive and does not want to share or release a toy he is playing with. He has anxiety so the best type of home for him will be someone that works from home and can be with him all day. Charles spent his days in his former home being closed off from the family in a small room and is adjusting to being a regular part of a family which is why he will do best with someone around most of the day. We want him to have another small dog as a companion animal. He is NOT good with cats. His home must have a safely, physically fenced play area. We will not consider homes that cannot provide this for him.
