Must Haves for Abbey

~~Abbey spent the first 9 years of her life as a breeder dog. Unfortunately that put her at risk for mammary cancer and she came to Lucky Star with a grade two malignant mammary tumor. Lucky Star did not hesitate to give this girl the best medical care and treatment that was needed. We are happy to say at this time that Abbey is cancer free. Radiographs show no spread to her lungs and a recent ultrasound of her lymph nodes show no metastasis of the cancer. Her other organs are all normal. Her right and left patella are not great but she can walk, run and climb steps so we are happy. While we don’t know what her future holds, Lucky Star would love to give Abbey the chance to have her very own family and forever home. She is a typical cavalier love sponge. She is happy to be held and loved and adores the dog beds in her foster home and will happily give chew toys a good workout. She goes everywhere her foster Mom is. She patiently lies on the bath matt during showers, follows her to each dog bowl at meal times and waits to be picked up when the television comes on. She loves to add in her two cents to most programs by barking at the screen. She enjoys being outside in the yard with the other dogs and walks very well on a leash. She is very reliably housetrained.

We want a home for Abbey with at least one other small companion dog and physically fenced in yard (no electric fences). Abbey has a tendency to walk right in front of you and due to her small size she could be a trip hazard for an elderly person.
