~~This gentle and sweet 8 yr old Blenheim girl was released from a breeding situation to a local shelter in Northern Lower Michigan. She was found to be heartworm positive. She required an 5 month duration of treatment and is now heart worm negative. Before treatment ensued she had an echocardiogram due to her heart murmur. Results showed mild heart enlargement and mild mitral valve regurgitation. She does not need heart medication at this time. Once her heartworm treatment was successful she was cleared to have a dental which left her with just 2 lower canines. Through all of this Daisy was brave and trusting of everyone who helped her in her journey to be ready for a new life as a beloved family pet.

Daisy spent lots of time sleeping, and resting.  When awake she wagged her tail and gave us loving looks. Eventually she was able to start exercising and enjoying the backyard with the other dogs.  Seeing her run, even if it was a slow run was a thrill. Daisy hardly ever barks, she lets the other dogs bark for her. She is house trained and sleeps in the big bed. She eats slowly but has no problem eating kibble. She asks to be held now that she feels wonderful and loves to snuggle. She is so much happier now! She lost some weight and fur but is putting back on both.

This senior girl needs a family who understands her needs for a not too hectic environment where she can fit in, relax and enjoy the good life. It doesn’t take long to fall in love with her! Her foster Mother reports that any time she can’t find her she knows where she is – on her bed napping! She is good on a leash, sits, and is very good in the car! She is a joy to know and have around. We are very happy to see her recover and be ready for a loving home – Daisy, Daisy – give her your answer DO!

Needs a fenced yard, mature gentle children over 10 yrs, would prefer someone to be home most of the day and have a companion canine – she has been fine with cats that are used to dogs. She will need yearly cardiology checkups.  Please complete an application first, then contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest.
