Harper (a/k/a Oliver) is a happy, loving 4 year old, 15 pound English Toy Spaniel who has adapted to “life on the outside” of a puppy mill very quickly!  He is eager to show you affection so be ready for lots of kisses and snuggling.  While his papers say his name is Harper, his foster family calls him Oliver and he has quickly responded to the moniker. 

 His foster family consists of 4 Cavaliers and 2 cats.  Oliver immediately became a part of the pack.  He romps outside playfully and runs and plays with the other dogs.  He fits in as though he’s been a part of the family forever.  He is fine with the cats and they with him.  No issues at all, not even when he first arrived. 

 He has mastered going up the hardwood steps to the second floor, but has not ventured down them as yet.  He will easily go up and down the steps from the front and back porches.  He climbs up the doggy steps to the people bed and promptly comes to lie down by you.  He’s one big bundle of love.  While he will still tend to go to “safe” places on occasion (behind a chair or under the bed), he is not reluctant to come out and will come when called.  He quickly became housetrained, does not chew on things and is very well behaved.  He waits patiently for his food at mealtime, eats with the others at usual pace and shows no food (or any other) aggression.  Barking is nominal and only to chime in if the others are protecting us from evil!

 Oliver has had no experience with children.  A fenced yard is required so he can run around freely.  He loves the company of people and would be very happy if his forever home had another dog to play with.  He will snuggle and sleep with one or more of his foster siblings on the dog bed and on the big people bed.
