Jan 25, 2014 We are sad to say that further testing revealed that Fiona's sight cannot be restored with surgery. She is blind and deaf and will need a quiet home, definitely with another small dog that she can bond with who will be able to guide her in her new home. Jan 3, 2014 Fiona is almost blind and currently needs her own seeing eye dog to guide her around. We have had her examined and confirmed that she has cataracts. Fiona is a good candidate for surgery so Lucky Star is going to give her the gift of her sight for the New Year. Your donations are greatly needed to help us do this for her. Her chances of being adopted will greatly improve with her sight. Please use our PayPal button or visit our donation page. This is very expensive surgery, over $2,000. Please help us do this for Fiona. Her surgery is scheduled for Jan 9. Please indicate that you donation is for Fiona. Thank you all so very much for helping us help these precious dogs! Fiona is one of the sweetest fosters we have ever had. Her foster Mom says she is a sweetie pie and such a good girl. Even though she is a senior dog, the vet said she is in really great health. Her heart, joints, and teeth are in super shape. She has some problems seeing and hearing but you would never know it She's learned to climb the stairs, both the outside deck stairs and the inside stairs – whole flights! And once she learns how to do something, she is really pretty great at it! She loves to run around the yard and chase after her buddies. She knows where the treat cupboard is, and makes sure we know she wants a treat. She stays right by it until we notice her. She does love her treats! She also loves playing with Patches, her foster sister – and cuddling and taking naps with Patches as well. She follows her mom and dad everywhere and love to cuddle up with them. She loves to be with grownups, kids and other dogs. Everyone who has met her says she is so very sweet and pretty and has the softest fur. Fiona has basic training and does really well on a leash and loves to go for walks. She is a terrific companion. She may be an older girl, but she does not act like it. She has so much energy and love to give to her family – both human and furry. Will you be her special family? Adopt Fiona, and she will be your loving companion for many years. Fiona is being fostered in MN. Please complete an application first, the contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com, of your interest in Fiona. She is just one of many senior dogs in our care with lots of love to give!
