My name is Nina. I was rescued just before Thanksgiving so my name is taken from a boat that brought people to a new world. That’s exactly what happened to me. I was in a puppy mill for my entire life (4 years) and now I am in a whole new world! People like me and I like them – but at first I was afraid. Four stairs lead to a wonderful big yard for me to run and play in as well as do my business- but at first I was very afraid of the stairs, especially to go down them! It took a whole month before I was brave enough to go down. Now it’s a piece of cake!! Also people give me treats in this world, just because I come to them or sit for them. My life is amazing now. I have toys to play with but I am learning that not everything is a toy! I am trying to figure this out to keep my foster Mom happy. So now when she says leave it – I go pick out something else to play with.  I went to the vet in the beginning when I was rescued and got spayed and had my teeth cleaned. No more babies for me and I lost 13 teeth but I can still chew and no one would even know they are missing.  I got my shots and tests showed that I am very healthy. After my bath I got petted a lot – that’s what happens in my new world all the time.  People like my soft, shiny coat. I kept my distance at first but now I come and lay near my foster Mom wherever she is and ask to be picked up and lay on the couch for more petting!

My foster Mom is hoping someone will adopt me so I will have a forever home.  I’d rather be with people now than in a crate but I settle down in my crate when my foster Mom goes away. Sometimes I get to go along with my foster Mom. Riding in the car and walking on a leash when we get there is very new to me, but I am getting used to it. I was overweight when I got to my new world but now that I can run and have so much fun, I have already lost a pound. I weigh 19 pounds.  My New Year’s resolution is to lose two or three more pounds so that I can stay healthy and beautiful! I would be happy to meet you if you want to meet me or you can ask the rescue people questions about me.  I would love to be your girl. Nina

Nina is being fostered in MI.  Please complete an adoption application first, then contact mary401339@aol.com of your interest.
