Cavalier King Charles Spaniel / Papillon / Mixed (medium coat) : : Female : : Young : : Small
Meet Honey, a stunning 2 year old Blenheim Cavalier/Papillon. She is a timid, petite girl weighing only 14 pounds and is simply irresistible! Honey is a very special girl who was rescued from a kill shelter in Oklahoma. She was going to be euthanized simply because she was so frightened and traumatized and shrunk away from human touch. One can only imagine the horror she had experienced prior to being rescued. Little by little, Honey is figuring out that people are not so bad and they provide love and affection. She is still shy and gets scared with sudden movements and unexpected noises. Honey has made remarkable progress over the last couple of months. She desperately wants to trust humans and is almost there. She will now take a treat out of your hand and has started coming to sit by her foster mom on the sofa. She is still a little frightened when being picked up, but once she is held for a few minutes, she melts into your arms and rests her head on your shoulder. She follows her foster mom everywhere and goes and looks for her the minute she steps out of the room, She will come up behind her foster mom and ever so gently give kisses. Honey is spayed, up-to-date on all of her shots, is heartworm negative and has no health issues. She is almost completely housebroken. She will use the doggie door but will need to be led outside initially. She would do best with someone who is not gone for more than 3 or 4 hours a day. She needs to have the companionship of other dogs as they provide security for her, but she is a little bossy with them. A home where there are no children would be best for her. Honey will be timid and shy at first, but we feel confident she will blossom in a home of her own, with people who are patient with her and can show her that life can be fulfilling and happy! If you feel you can give this sweet girl the forever home she deserves, please complete an on-line application indicating you are interested in Honey. Please contact jcharlton1@att.net to let her know of your interest. Honey is being fostered in Haslet, TX.
