Lovely Lucy came to Lucky Star, surrendered by an owner, but it was obvious that it was a breeding situation.  She is about 7 years old and just the most lovely girl that ever could be.  She has needed more medical care than most of our rescues, to get her ready for adoption.  In additional to the usual conditions associated with mill dogs and neglect, Lucy has had mammory tumors removed and tested (negative), urinary tract infection, multiple tooth extractions and severe anal gland infections.  Lucy has been through 3 rounds of antibiotics for severe anal gland infections.  As soon as she is off of the antibiotics, the infection returns.  She has been such a good sport but this is just so uncomfortable for her.  We've made the decision that removing the anal glands is the best option to relieve her discomfort and end this problem once and for all.  The estimated cost of this surgery is about $700.  We would greatly appreciate your help with this expense and so would Lucy.  She has been an angel and is just the perfect dog in every other way.  If you are able to donate anything towards her expenses, please visit our website, www.luckystarcavalierrescue.org, then select the "Donations" button in the center of the page.  Please help us to get Lucy this surgery so she can be well and in her forever home very soon.  Thank you all so very much!
