Cavalier King Charles Spaniel : : Male
Milo Milo entered his foster homes as an anxious little dog following his removal from a Tennessee puppy mill. His papers say he is 5 years old, but the vets who examined him, and his playfulness with other dogs, put him at 2-3 years of age. He has no health problems, except for chronically weepy eyes due to conformation. He is still cautious with human beings, yet does greet people at the door and follows people around. He will only come up to sniff a hand (longer and with more interest every day), then backs away. He is a great tail-wagger and is starting to talk when he’s happy. He is not trained on a leash yet. He has free access to the fenced backyard, and has been going outside by choice with no accidents in the house. He sleeps next to his girlfriend Cavalier in a dog bed in the bedroom, and rarely needs to go out during the night. He eats like a champ, and takes treats from his foster Mom’s hand. Milo needs to go to a house with a friendly female Cavalier based on his tail-wagging and ecstatic behavior around his adopted sister. He also likes his beagle sisters, and is oblivious to cats. Other dogs in the household are his key to happiness. He can be an escape artist, so a fenced yard is needed. He deserves a gentle owner; he would not do well in a noisy household with children. Milo is being fostered in east central Florida. If you are interested in adopting Milo, please complete an online application and then contact cavrescue@aol.com or rosiehenik@gmail.com, his foster mom, for more information.
