~~Lucky is indeed a very Lucky boy.  Lucky Star rescued him from his life as a stud dog in a commercial breeding facility. His coat was not in great condition when he came to us so he is shaved down but we know he will soon grow that beautiful cavalier coat that we all love. Lucky is a small, 5 year old tri-color boy. Since coming into foster care he had a much needed dental and was neutered. He is up to date on all of his vaccines and is also microchipped. He is being fostered in Dayton, OH. Potential adopters need to be willing to drive to his location for adoption. We do not ship our dogs. He requires a home with a physically fenced in yard (no underground fencing) and at least one other canine companion.

Once in our care, we discovered that he had a heart murmur and we immediately got him the testing and care that he needed. Lucky has a grade 3 heart murmur that requires one medication that he takes twice a day. His adoptive family will need to be familiar with Mitral Valve disease and commit to follow up visits with a vetinary cardiologist. Lucky is a happy, active boy in his foster home.

Lucky loves to watch television and is obsessed with any shows that have animals. He watches them very closely and will look under the television when they disappear from the screen. He also will run into the hallway looking for an animal that has exited the screen in that direction. He is absolutely enthralled with them and makes his foster Mom laugh out loud when he does this. He can be very vocal talking to them. He likes toys and loves being outside in the yard. He spends his time smelling everything and even tasting a few leaves that have fallen to the ground. He is very vocal when dogs walk by or a neighbor comes to visit. He loves the lady that lives next door to his foster home.
