Hello, My name is Benson. I am an English Toy Spaniel. The vet thinks that I am 5 years old and that I have a strong heart but that I need to get out more to make my back legs stronger. I am a big happy boy (20lbs) that loves to be around other dogs. It's been a wild journey.  Lucky Star rescued me and now I no longer spend my time being a breeder.  I can relax and finally know what it’s like to be a pet and be loved.

  I have a house in Michigan and 2 Cavalier sisters along with a big cuddly Labrador that keeps me warm at night. They are taking good care of me but I feel like I am just borrowing their stuff. I really want my own stuff and want to have a person of my own. I love to snuggle on laps and I get jealous when the people pet the other dogs. They say that I snore but it doesn't bother me. I don't have very many teeth left so they give me soft food with my kibble so I can get it down. I'm not much of a runner or chaser but I do like to spend time chewing on marrow bones. Walking on a leash is something that I'm good at but I get distracted by wanting to say hi to everyone that goes by, just in case they want to scratch my head or my back. I still take naps in the kennel but I don't have to. My foster mom says that I'm a very good boy for always going potty outside. When the people are gone I snuggle with my sisters then we all go out together when they get home. We keep track of the people outside and say hi whenever they walk by. If you don't want me to do something, like bark, just tell me NO. I understand that but I still have a lot of things to learn about this whole freedom thing.

I would also like a fenced yard, not an invisible fence, so I can have my freedom and also a family who will include me in their activities and take me for walks.
