Karlie Kloss is a sweet, mild-mannered, beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel rescued from her former life of breeding.

When Karlie meets new people, she can be timid. However, after she warms up, Karlie is an affectionate, loyal, happy girl who loves snuggling, belly rubs, and playing with squeaky toys. Karlie generally wants to be around her foster parents. She gets along exceptionally well with her foster siblings, including a grumpy senior Cavalier. Karlie would do best in a house with another dog and due to her easy-going nature, she would likely get along with any dog including a hyper puppy or a laidback senior dog.

Karlie is fully housebroken and has good manners. She is crated at night and when her foster parents are out. Like most Cavaliers, Karlie is eager to please and motivated by food, and she loves frozen green beans, carrots, and peanut butter.

Like many rescues, Karlie can be a bit skittish around fast, sudden movements. If she is around children, they need to be calm and gentle to avoid scaring her. Karlie is uncomfortable walking on a leash but with additional practice could come to enjoy walks.  Karlie requires a securely fenced yard as do all of our rescues.

We estimate that Karlie is about 6 years old and weighs 18 lbs. Karlie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, HW tested, teeth cleaning and extractions, and had a full exam from the vet in Cincinnati and the dog cardiologist in Columbus. Karlie has a heart murmur and takes 5 mg Vetmedin® (pimobendan) daily which has been prescribed  proactively to delay progression of her low grade murmur.   Karlie self-regulates her activity and generally avoids running and jumping. A follow up echo is recommended in 12 months.  Before Karlie arrived at Lucky Star, she had an eye removed and she is cautious when she goes downstairs.

The lucky family that adopts Karlie is going to have a wonderful girl that will be affectionate, loyal, and loads of fun.

Karlie Kloss is being fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Please consider this location before applying since we do not approve long distant adoptions, do not ship dogs, and do not use commercial transports.  After completing an application, contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest in this sweetheart!
