Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (medium coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
Adele and Gisele are 5-year-old sisters who have been together since birth. They are retired breeding moms from a farm in Ohio. They came to rescue very timid, obviously needing each other. We will be placing them together since they love and depend on each other. At first, the girls look a lot alike. Gisele has more white in her tri color coat and fuller jowls and Adele has a rounded face and slightly smaller body.
After six weeks in their foster home, Adele and Gisele are beautiful, happy, playful dogs. They are very loving towards people and each other. Adele is a smart girl who loves toys and brings anything on the floor (e.g., dog toys, shoes, dog bowls, a squeegee stored in the shower) back to her spot. Gisele is a loving girl, and she frequently rolls over for belly rubs. Gisele takes queues from Adele and frequently grooms Adele. When the girls are petted, they often give their foster parents boops on the nose, a sign of affection. Like most cavaliers, the girls love treats and have even started embracing healthy treats like frozen green beans and banana.
The girls get along well with their foster brothers, a senior Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a playful Cockapoo. They could be placed in a home with other cavaliers, but they would also love being the only dogs in the house.
Adele is fully house trained, and Gisele is mostly house trained, if she is taken outside on a regular schedule. Both girls need help walking on a leash.
Adele weighs 18 lbs. and Gisele weights 19 lbs. Both girls have low-grade heart murmurs and currently do not require any medication. Their hearts will need to be monitored annually by a cardiologist. Both girls had several teeth extracted during the spay/dental surgery. The girls have fully recovered from their surgery.
They are a bonded pair and we’re looking for a home for both dogs. A fenced yard (a physical fence) is a must. They are being fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Please consider your location before applying. We do not ship dogs or approve of long distant adoptions. After completing an application, please contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com.
