Mimi is a retired breeder who is about 5 ½  years old.  She is a fairly small girl at 14.6 lbs and  has gained some weight since she came to us.  She is a timid girl and spends most of her time sleeping in an open crate near one of her foster siblings.  She always likes to be near another dog.  She has the choice to wander around the house but mainly stays in a crate. 

She is still unsure about going outside and must be carried down the 6 steps to the front yard but she quickly learned to climb the stairs to come back inside.  She is still working on her housebreaking and using a leash.  Her best friends are Ginger and Ruth who are foster siblings.  Mimi gets very excited at mealtime and treat time.  She greets her foster mom with a wagging tail and allows her to approach her and pat her.  She is not a cuddly lap dog at this time and time will only tell when or if she becomes one. 

Mimi has been spayed, had all vaccinations and lost many teeth during her dental update.  She’s feeling good.  There is no evidence of any heart murmur at this time or patella luxation.  She ate soft food for a while but now that her mouth has healed, she does fine with kibble, canned and pumpkin softened with warm water. 

Mimi is being fostered in Maine.  She absolutely needs another canine companion, preferably a Cavalier and someone who will continue to be patient with her to allow her to gain confidence and adjust to living in a home and learning to be a pet.  Small children would not be appropriate as she is easily startled.  She must have a securely fenced yard.  If you can give this lovely girl the time and love she needs, please complete an application, then contact Mary Coyne, mary401339@aol.com of your interest.  Local applications within a few hours only will be considered.
