Oonagh is a 3 year old black & tan English Toy Spaniel.  What a happy girl she is!  We would love to place Oonagh and Nora together.  They are the best of buddies and keep each other entertained and happy.  The choose to be in an open crate together, to be on a lap together and to run in the yard. 

Oonagh has some vision issues.  She is microphthalmic in one eye which is a genetic condition which often takes place in the womb or shortly after birth, sometimes cause by infection.  The eye appears slightly smaller but there no vision in that eye.  There is no treatment to correct it.  As you can see from her photos, it is not very noticeable.  Her other eye has some scarring from a previous injury gone untreated.  She manages just fine but her limitations are most noticeable at night.  It’s to her benefit to be supervised at night and also to have another canine companion.   

She has a great appetite and she has been easy to housebreak as long as she is supervised.  Her foster mom says she is the happiest dog she has ever fostered.  She loves to climb in a lap and loves belly rubs.  She spins in large and small circles when she greets her mom in the morning and gets very excited about being fed which is when she will bark and also at night when she wants to go out.  Otherwise, she is a quiet girl.  She is friendly with strangers.   

Older respectful children might be OK depending on the child and their activity level.  She will retreat to a crate if she is overwhelmed. 

She must have a securely fenced yard with a physical fence.  We are not considering long transports and do not put dogs on planes so please note the location in Tennessee and the driving distance before you apply.
