Ginger is a beautiful, almost 5 year old, Ruby, English Toy Spaniel who came to Lucky Star from a breeding facility. She has an adorable baby face that just begs for attention.   Though she can be very shy at times, she just loves to cuddle with her foster mom or dad, on a lap or just by their side. Ginger will follow her foster mom wherever she goes. She can be very insecure in new situations and needs lots of gentle, loving reassurance.

                Ginger has bilateral luxating patellas that are not causing her problems and surgery is not indicated at this time. A Glucosamine supplement will provide relief for any arthritis related to this condition.   She has been spayed and had a dental where she lost 6 small teeth. That has not caused her any problem and she eats dry dog food without difficulty. Ginger can do stairs well. She is reliably house trained, but does not yet indicate when she needs to go out. She does not like her leash and training in this area is a work in progress. She sleeps in the “big bed” with her foster brothers and sister.

                Ginger gets along well with all her foster siblings and would do well either as an only dog or in a home with other like sized dogs. She would do well with older, responsible children. She will need a securely fenced yard. Ginger would like a forever home that will be lovingly patient with her insecurities. She needs someone to be with her in the home most of the time.
