Archie is an 8 year old senior boy who came to Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue after he was found as a stray. We think that this sweet boy must have been on his own for awhile as he was afraid of his own shadow and can still be skittish but has made amazing strides in his foster home with lots of love and treats.  He knows what “go outside” means.  He also knows what “dinner” means.  He loves to be loved on and loves to be on your lap, but you have to pick him up as he still has not mastered jumping up on furniture.  He uses the steps to the bed and couch but does need some coaxing sometimes. Archie has been microchipped, had a dental and was neutered. He was also brought up to date on all his vaccines. No health issues were noted at his vet exam.

Archie loves to wear clothes and is much more comfortable wearing a harness for his walks than a collar.  He is not a fan of riding in the car unless he is in a crate. That makes him feel more secure.
While Archie does well with his foster Dad he is skittish around other men. He may do better in a home with a female owner or allowed to have time to make friends with any resident males. Archie also needs another cavalier or small dog as a companion because he does much better with other dogs then he does alone. 
Archie has grown so much since he came to Lucky Star Cavalier Rescue and his wonderful foster home. He continues to blossom as a dog and is just now discovering toys and what they are for.

Archie is being fostered near New Philadelphia in northern Ohio. We do not ship our dogs so we prefer an adopter who lives within driving distance of his foster home. He must have a physically fenced  yard and another small dog as a companion. He needs a forever home that will help him feel secure after his life on his own for so long.
