Paddy is an active 8 year old, neutered black & tan male Cavalier. He was surrendered to Lucky Star when his family's living situation changed. .  A newborn baby in the home changed his behavior dramatically and was out of character.   It wasn’t clear if it was just high anxiety, jealousy or being overly protective but, it was best to rehome him.  He had been very well-cared for by his family.

Paddy is very enthusiastic about everything and seems to be fairly athletic. Of course, he is sweet, loving, compliant, and tries his best to understand what is expected. Being so very smart, he can figure things out pretty quickly.  He has been trying to understand and adapt to this recent change and is getting more settled every day. 

Paddy gets along well with the senior Cavalier foster brothers, and has been respectful of the English Bulldog foster brother. He is very sociable and has interacted nicely with neighbors and their dogs.

Paddy would do well with someone who likes long walks. He is currently working on not racing ahead and not pulling on the leash, but it's hard when everything outside is so exciting. It also helps him to release some of his energy.  The intake exam detected a cyst on his side, but otherwise his medical care has been kept up to date and Paddy is in good health.

This handsome boy adjusted quickly to his foster home. Generally, he sleeps well through the night in his crate. He has decided that cats are for chasing, but otherwise Paddy is a wonderful, well behaved dog. 

We require a securely fenced yard for all of our rescues and another canine companion(s).  We will not consider applications with small children because of his history.  Paddy is being fostered in Johnson City, TN.  We will only consider applications that meet his needs and are located within a reasonable driving distance.  Please complete an application first, then contact luckystarrescue@gmail.com of your interest.
