Sweet, darling Rosie came into rescue as a retired breeder on Labor Day.  In honor of Labor Day, Rosie was named after Rosie the Riveter.  Finally, retired, Rosie has embraced her new life.  Within days, Rosie was part of her foster homes family, getting along with everyone, sleeping in the “big bed” and learning the routine.  Rosie’s happiest times is when she can cuddle next to you.  You will always find her in whatever room you are in.  She is a good girl.

Rosie is still learning that one must go out, rain or shine.  She is very good about the shine part, but can “hold it” FOREVER, on the rain days.  Those are the days “accidents” happen.  On those days, a pee pad is offered and she uses it about 50% of the time.  Still, three months of learning new rules vs 5 years of no rules, she is trying.  Her new family will have to continue to work with her.  Rosie has successfully learned to walk on a leash which is good progress for one of our rescues.  

Rosie is nearly perfect.  You will, however, have to watch her as she will occasionally want to   chew on something that is not a toy.  A stern, ROSIE quickly corrects the behavior.  Chew toys are offered but still she needs reminders to understand what is hers.    Rosie likes older children, has not been tested with younger ones or cats.

As with all of our rescue, Rosie requires a securely fenced yard, a physical fence that is attached to the home as well as a canine companion.  Based on her love for people, a home where there are overlapping schedules or remote schedules would be best, allowing her to have the attention she loves.  Rosie is being fostered in Hyde Park, NY.  If you would like to be considered to add this sweetheart to your family, please complete an application and e-mail luckystarrescue@gmail.com of your interest.
