Meet Herbie

This cute 1 1/2 year old Ruby boy came from a Amish farm in Ohio. He was released to rescue because he was not a successful breeder.  At first he was very shy and scared. He stayed in a crate with other dogs and day by day got more curious and brave. He graduated from the crate at night to the big bed with his foster and the other dogs. He likes to wander around in the yard and see and sniff new things he had never encountered.  

He saw the vet for an exam and has no heart murmur, normal labs, urine test good, and normal knees. He got vaccinations and a neg heart worm test. He weighed 23 lbs when he arrived and is losing weight by eating a weight loss prescription kibble. He is scheduled to be neutered on July19 and will be available after he recuperates from surgery.  

When you call Herbie, he looks at you lovingly and wags his tail. He gets along with all the other fosters very well. He is often in a pile in the large crate with 3 other Cavaliers. He is working on house training and currently wears a belly band in the house.  

Herbie will be a great family dog and would be happiest with another dog(s) in the home, similar size and temperament. There is a cat here and he doesn’t react to him.
